We had so much fun with our friends the Tuskegee Airmen, the Capital Area manufacturing Council, and the Michigan Pageant Queens along with our WWII Michigan Rosies in the Ypsilanti 4th of July Parade!
Michigan Rosies 4th of July Cardmaking
A really wonderful group of volunteers gathered to make our Michigan Rosies annual 4th of July greeting cards, assembly line style! We had fun making the cards, and then we were able to mail greetings from the Michigan Rosies organization to over 200 WWII Rosies and Veterans, supporters, friends and organizational partners.

Michigan Rosies Celebrate another 100th Birthday… of Lansing Airport!
Michigan Rosies were invited by the Capitol Area Manufacturing Council and the Lansing International Airport (LAN) to help celebrate the airport’s 100th birthday! Our WWII ‘Rosie’ Delphine Klaput was older than the airport by one year!
High School Diplomas for Rosies: Celebrating New Legislation
Many WWII Rosie the Riveters dropped out of school to work for the war effort. Now, Michigan Sen. Sue Shink has introduced legislation that streamlines the path for them to get their high school diplomas! Prior to introducing the legislation, Sen. Shink’s office reached out to Michigan Rosies’ executive director Jeannette Gutierrez for suggestions. We were so honored to have played a part!

Michigan Rosies Wins MCNHA Mini Grant
Michigan Rosies (Rosie the Riveter Assocation of Michigan) is a proud winner of a MotorCities National Heritage Area Mini Grant for 2026! The MotorCities National Heritage Area Partnership is a nonprofit corporation that is part of the National Heritage Area System of the National Park Service. We preserve, interpret and promote the region’s rich automotive and labor heritage.
Ford/UAW Joint Trusts Rosie Event
Our Michigan Rosies group was delighted and honored to be a featured part of the Ford/UAW Joint Trust’s celebration of Rosie the Riveter Day in downtown Detroit! We loved seeing our Tuskegee friends, and several members of our group spoke as part of the program.
Rosie Day in Lansing 2026
The 4th Annual Michigan’s Rosie the Riveter Day was a huge success, with hundreds of attendees! The free event brings together members of the community with the Real Rosie the Riveters of WWII and modern women in manufacturing and agriculture. There were exhibits, vintage planes, and educational displays, along with a wonderful speaker program, and time to mingle.
