Color Me Equal: The Detroit 8

Rosie Coloring Sheets by artist Walter A. Boykin II

Michigan Rosies is proud to present “Color Me Equal: The Detroit 8,” a series of educational coloring sheets created by Detroiter Walter A. Boykin II. Inspired by a meeting the daughter of an Irish-American Rosie, Mr. Boykin created the first coloring sheet, “Kathleen the Bomb Builder,” to tell ‘Rosie’ Kathleen Matilda Webber’s story. An interest in the women workers of WWII was sparked, and Mr. Boykin was inspired by the work ethic and patriotism of these women, many of whom were the children of immigrants. He created a series of coloring sheets celebrating the many Rosies of varied backgrounds, races, colors and creeds…each one an Amazing American! Below, please enjoy learning about Kathleen the Bomb Builder, and stay tuned as we upload more of The Detroit 8!

(Note: “The Detroit 8” coloring sheets are copyright Walter A. Boykin II and reproduction for commercial use is prohibited by law. Reproduction for personal, family, and educational use is encouraged.)
