We brought a small gang of Michigan Rosies friends and supporters, including Michigan Sen. Sue Shink, to see the famous (and privately owned) “Rosie House” in Ypsilanti. Women workers from the Willow Run Bomber Plant lived in this worker boardinghouse during WWII.

Volunteer 4th of July Cardmaking

The Michigan Rosies organization helped expand Garden City Rosie the Riveter Rose Garden with 6 new rosebushes dedicated, each in honor of a treasured local Rosie! Of the 6 Rosies honored this year with a rose, 5 were living Rosies, all between 99 and 102 years old!

WWII Veteran George Celebrates 100th Birthday

Our dear WWII Veteran, B-24 nose gunner George Leland, celebrated his 100th birthday with friends and family. Our Michigan Rosies and WWII Vets celebrated the holidays at an event hosted by ONE Stop Veteran Resources (with special thanks to Darlene Soave) at the historic Michigan Theater, along with Vets of all conflicts and some wonderful schoolkids! In keeping with our mission to educate and to preserve Rosie's legacy, we are so proud to share this exclusive Michigan Rosies (Rosie the Riveter Association of Michigan) Ypsilanti Historic WWII Self-guided Tour Map that we created! It offers a self-guided drive and/or stroll through Ypsilanti's rich WWII history centered on Ford's famous Willow Run Bomber Plant and its over 40,000 workers, many of whom were "Rosie the Riveters!"
