We brought our Real WWII Michigan Rosies to the Ypsilanti 4th of July Parade once again to be celebrated by the community! This time, with a community Rosie Brigade, inviting anyone in the community to sign up and march with our Real Rosies.

We brought a small gang of Michigan Rosies friends and supporters, including Michigan Sen. Sue Shink, to see the famous (and privately owned) “Rosie House” in Ypsilanti. Women workers from the Willow Run Bomber Plant lived in this worker boardinghouse during WWII.

Our Michigan Rosies group sends out 4th of July Greetings to all of the wonderful people who have touched our organization, and all of the wonderful people that we have touched. It’s a mailing list of over 200 of our many friends and supporters! Michigan Rosies volunteers gathered (including one real WWII Rosie!) to create a cardmaking assembly line.

Michigan Rosies’ Executive Director Jeannette Gutierrez went along on the Detroit Labor History Bus Tour, and learned a LOT about Detroit’s amazing labor history, and to address the group between stops with some information about Rosie the Riveter.

The Michigan Rosies organization helped expand Garden City Rosie the Riveter Rose Garden with 6 new rosebushes dedicated, each in honor of a treasured local Rosie! Of the 6 Rosies honored this year with a rose, 5 were living Rosies, all between 99 and 102 years old!

The Michigan Rosies group got together with Dearborn Heights seniors to make greeting cards for Veterans of all conflicts, and we were joined by Mayor Mo Beydoun.

We love to bring our Michigan Rosies Real WWII Rosies out into the community, with friends old and new!

We love honoring Rosies, and if they can’t get out to see us, we go to see them! Recently, we visited Rosies Irene and Mary Lou, to present them with the Rosie the Riveter Congressional Gold Medal!

After a presentation to a great group at Montcalm Community College, Michigan Rosies executive director Jeannette Gutierrez was treated to a whirlwind tour of historic Greenville, Michigan.

Our “Baby" Rosie” Virginia turned 98 and our group celebrated in style with lots of Rosie Spirit! Rosies and WWII Vets turned out for pizza and cake, and several Veterans of all conflicts were in attendance, and we never miss a chance to honor those who served!

We are so proud to be an organizing partner of the third annual Michigan Rosie Day in the Capital! This year’s flagship Lansing event, held on Rosie the Riveter Day, March 21, was a huge success. The event celebrates the Real Rosies of WWII along with modern women in the manufacturing, students in the STEM pipeline, and anyone who loves Rosie as much as we do!

Everyone is welcome to attend the 4th Annual Rosie Day in Lansing on Friday, March 13, 2026 at 4:00pm. It is a celebration of women in manufacturing today alongside the Real Rosie the Riveters who opened the doors for them during WWII. Our Sisterhood of the Traveling Crafts traveled to a local senior center, where the seniors helped us make valentines for the WWII Rosie the Riveters and the WWII Veterans.

Our dear WWII Veteran, B-24 nose gunner George Leland, celebrated his 100th birthday with friends and family. Our Michigan Rosies Executive Director, Jeannette Gutierrez, had the pleasure of presenting him with congressional honors, courtesy of United States Congresswoman Debbie Dingell. Two of his favorite WWII Rosie Friends were in attendance to help him celebrate his milestone birthday.

Our Michigan Rosies and WWII Vets celebrated the holidays at an event hosted by ONE Stop Veteran Resources (with special thanks to Darlene Soave) at the historic Michigan Theater, along with Vets of all conflicts and some wonderful schoolkids! Rose and Deb, our favorite Christmas Elves, added holiday cheer to the occasion, while the WWII Rosies shared their wish lists with USMC Santa and Vietnam Vet Mrs. Claus.

What a privilege and an honor it was to bring ‘Rosie’ Delphine on the SocialFlight Live podcast. In appearing on the live aviation-themed video cast, Delphine joins the ranks of the US Surgeon General, actor Treat Williams, and countless NASA astronauts. Host Jeff Simon was a joy to work with, and Delphine was was a very engaging and articulate guest.

In keeping with our mission to educate and to preserve Rosie's legacy, we are so proud to share this exclusive Michigan Rosies (Rosie the Riveter Association of Michigan) Ypsilanti Historic WWII Self-guided Tour Map that we created! It offers a self-guided drive and/or stroll through Ypsilanti's rich WWII history centered on Ford's famous Willow Run Bomber Plant and its over 40,000 workers, many of whom were "Rosie the Riveters!"
